braid & twist

braid & twist

this is a fun style that can be adapted in many different ways, and is rather simple to do!

i love doing these twists for a fun, messy updo, a side bun or more.

to get this look:

1. start by adding some volume! backcomb around the crown of your head using a hairbrush and some light hairspray. smooth over the top to get a nice, brushed look. be sure not to brush too much!
2. take two sections of hair by the ears and make a small braid.
3. pin back  the top half of your hair, creating a nice beehive look on the crown. this helps create the volume you see.
4. use the left over hair on the bottom to section off how many twists desired. in this style i did four.
5. lightly backcomb each section and twist it in a messy bun, pin down. backcombing will give it texture, the messy look and will hold better when pinned.
6. to finish this off, pull the two braids back and tie them (like the beginning of a knot). pin the ends down into the messy buns.
7. great job!

i will create tutorials with pictures soon for quick learning. :)
